TV advertisements, including televised shopping or infomercials, which are TV commercials that run for 30 minutes or even longer on an entertainment channel. Infomercials are used to sell a variety of items such as cutlery, jewelry, consumer electronics, home décor and other poducts at relatively low prices.
Television and Video combines motion, sound, and special visual effects. Products can be demonstrated as well as described on TV and video. It offers a wide geographic coverage, and flexibility in when the message can be presented. However, it is relatively expensive to create and produce a 30-second network television commercial. To reach their target audiences, advertisers are using what is called place-based television. By putting TVs in classrooms, waiting rooms, supermarkets, airports, health clubs, and other places where there are 'captive audiences', they provide advertisers with otherwise unavailable viewers.
